Balochistan High Court (BHC) on Tuesday issued notices to the Attorney General, Federal Secretary Law, and others regarding a treason case against the former prime minister Imran Khan.

Abdul Razzaq Shar Advocate of the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) had submitted an application before the BHC seeking registration of a treason case against the former premier.

The former premier Imran Khan committed treason while dissolving the assembly in April 2022, Amanullah Kanrani Advocate, the former SCBA President, and the counsel for the petitioner pleaded.

A division bench of the BHC comprising Chief Justice, Mr. Justice Naeem Akhtar Afghan, and Mr. Justice Amir Rana admitted the petition and directed to issue notices to the concerned offices.

“Directions should be issued to the government in the light of the recent decisions related to violation of the constitution and high treason in the past,” the petitioner said.
