Chief Secretary Balochistan, Abdul Aziz Uqaili inaugurated the Digital Media Cell in the Director General Public Relations (DGPR) office on Friday. Secretary Information Balochistan, Hamza Shafqaat, DGPR Kamran Asad, Muhammad Noor Khetran and other officials were also present on the occasion.

The purpose of Digital Media Cell is not only to respond to negative criticism against the government but also to communicate the government’s performance to the people. Effective response to criticism from the government on social media will be given immediately.

DGPR plays important role: CS Balochistan

The digital media cell will not only improve the performance of the government, but the Public Relations Department of Balochistan will show better performance compared to other provinces.

The Chief Secretary said that the performance of the Information Department is commendable and the credit goes to the Secretary Information and DGPR and the officers and staff. The Chief Secretary further said that steps will be taken to increase the professional capacity of the officers and improve their skills.

Financial issues of the office to be addressed

Public relations systems are taking steps under comprehensive planning and solid strategy to reduce financial difficulties on a permanent basis so that they do not face any financial problems in the future, but all affairs continue to run smoothly.

Compared to other provinces, the department if compared to Balochistan’s budget, it is nothing. But despite this, the performance of the department is commendable and appreciable.

10 interns trained

He said that it is a matter of pleasure that Lahore University of Management Sciences and Centrum Media have provided training to 10 interns of the Department of Information, followed by the Department of Public Relations.

Balochistan will be able to play its role in a more efficient manner, he said that after 20 years, the National Games are being organized in the province, which is an honor for the province and the media should also play its role for its best coverage, the CS concluded.
