World Food Safety Day celebrated in Quetta

The Balochistan Food Authority (BFA) in collaboration with Nutrition International organization celebrated World Food Safety Day in Quetta, the provincial capital of Balochistan. Every year 7th june is observed as World Food safety Day to mark the importance of pure and healthy food for a happy living. Nutritionists give awareness about Food safety and poisoning, which affects 1 in 10 people worldwide.

Engr Zamrak Achakzai, Minister Food Balochistan graced event as Chief Guest

The event was graced by Engineer Zamrak Achakzar, Minister Food Balochistan and Chairman BFA as Chief Guest, Mujeeb Ur Rehman, secretary Food department, Muhammad Naeem Bazai, Director General BFA along with doctors, teachers and students were also present in the occasion.

Access to safe and nutritious food right of every individual, Food Minister Balochistan

Speaking on the occasion, the Chairman BFA, Engineer Zamrak Khan Achakzai, emphasized the significance of food safety, saying that “Access to safe and nutritious food is the right of each and every individual.”
BFA is committed in ensuring food safety standards for all citizens of the province, he added. We request all stakeholders to move forward and help us in awareness of safe and nutritious food for a healthy and happy living of people of Balochistan, the Chairman BFA demanded while addressing ceremony.

BFA constantly monitoring Food Safety measures in Balochistan, Chairman

Our Food Authority constantly monitors all the food places including hotels and food industries for ensuring the food safety measures at all levels, Mr Achakzai told the audience. BFA has sealed and imposed heavy fines on hotels that does not meet food safety measures, he narrated.

At the occasion, the secretary food Mujeeb ur Rehman , Provincial Manager Nutrition International, Muhammad Qavi Khan, and other speakers emphasized the significance of adhering to the principles and procedures of adequate sanitation and hygiene in handling and preparing food and beverage items. They also underscored the vital role of healthy food and food safety in averting diseases. In addition, the participants received insights on the food safety guidelines established by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations and the World Health Organization.
