Finance Minister Balochistan, Zamarak Khan Achakzai on Saturday assured that junior teachers across the province would be upgraded within next couple of days. The Minister visited the hunger strike camp established by the Government Teachers Association Balochistan (GRAB) outside the provincial assembly.

Junior teachers have been observing hunger strike till death outside the assembly to mount pressure on the provincial government for acceptance of their demands. Upgradation of around 30,000 junior teachers is one of their main demands.

He said that as the provincial finance minister and as a party, it is our duty to protect the rights of the employees and to solve their problems and especially to solve the problems of the teachers.

Teachers have their own place and the future of children is related to you people, the minister told the teachers on hunger strike. “I met the Chief Minister of Balochistan twice regarding the problems of teachers and the Chief Minister is also concerned about this”, he mentioned.

He said that the government also has some discretion. The association should also cooperate with the government in this regard, he said that there has been a discussion regarding your problems in the provincial cabinet. The Provincial Finance Minister also met the Awami National Party Loralai district delegation and assured to accept their demands.
