A school teacher was killed in a firing incident in Balochistan’s Awaran district on Monday morning. Levies sources said unknown accused opened fire and killed a school teacher identified as Manzoor Ahmed in the Mashkay tehsil of Awaran district.

The assailants sped away on their motorcycle after the attack. Levies and local residents of the area reached the spot and shifted the dead body to a nearby hospital.

Security was tightened in the area after the killing of a teacher. However, motive behind the attack could not be ascertained immediately.

CM Bizenjo condemns the attack

Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Quddus Bizenjo strongly condemned the attack and directed the local administration to apprehend the culprits behind the incident. In a statement issued after the incident, Mr. Bizenjo said it was a coward attack and a teacher has been targeted. “This is against human rights and education”, the CM Balochistan said.

He said the attackers would be brought to justice.
