QUETTA: A tribal elder, Lala Zahir Khan Dumar was killed in a firing incident on Quetta’s Double Road on Saturday evening. Police sources said the unknown accused opened fire on the vehicle of Lala Zahir Khan and killed him on the spot. Two people were injured in the attack, police said.
The injured were rushed to the civil hospital Quetta for medical treatment. The attackers managed to escape unhurt from the spot. Zahir Khan Dumar was a close aide of seasoned politician Nawabzada Haji Lashkari Raisani.
The motive behind the attack could not be ascertained.
