General Michael Erik Kurilla, Commander United States (US) CENTCOM, called on General Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) on Monday morning.
During the meeting matters of mutual interest, regional security situation, and defense cooperation were discussed. Both reiterated the desire to further enhance bilateral relations in all fields.
The visiting dignitary acknowledged and appreciated Pakistan Army’s successes in the fight against terrorism and Pakistan’s continued efforts for bringing peace and stability to the region.
Pakistan has been at the forefront of the menace of terrorism and extremism in the region. The country has faced the brunt of war on terror and thousands of soldiers laid down their lives against terrorists.
