QUETTA: In a dialogue with members of the press, the Director General of Balochistan’s Anti-Corruption Establishment Mr. Sohail Anwar Hashmi unveiled the agency’s steadfast commitment to elevating its operational prowess in alignment with global best practices.

He shared that ACEB will take a multi-faceted approach and offer a comprehensive series of training workshops covering anti-corruption legislation, tools, and strategies to counter white-collar crimes, innovative financial and asset investigation methodologies, and intelligence gathering techniques.

He also shared ACEB’s plan to establish a dedicated Financial Investigation Unit and strong institutional alliances between the ACEB and other national and sub-national anti-corruption agencies. This crucial step is envisioned to streamline inter-agency collaboration, enabling seamless knowledge transfer and coordination on matters related to financial investigations.

Mr. Abdul Wahid Kakar, the Director of Balochistan’s Anti-Corruption Establishment, shared further details about the agency’s transformative initiatives, emphasizing their commitment to improved data management, case monitoring, follow-ups, and the handling of public complaints through the introduction of a comprehensive case management system.

He also revealed plans for a province-wide community engagement and awareness campaign, geared towards nurturing a robust ecosystem of social accountability and effective governance across the region.

Acknowledging the media’s pivotal role in shaping public discourse and cultivating a culture of accountability, DirectorKakar emphasized the indispensable contribution of journalists in the battle against corruption.

He said  media partners are pivotal allies in advancing the ACEB’s mission through their work to expose of corrupt practices, advocate for transparency, and mobilize citizen engagement in anti-corruption efforts.
