QUETTA: Balochistan Caretaker Home Minister, Captain (R) Zubair Jamali on Saturday said tribal disputes were hampering peace in the province. In a statement issued here, Mr. Jamali said the Balochistan government was playing its due role in the solution of tribal disputes.

BNP announces long march from Wadh to Quetta

The Home Minister’s statement has come after the Balochistan National Party (BNP) announced to launch of a long march on October 22nd (tomorrow) against the law and order situation in the Wadh Tehsil of Balochistan.

Balochistan is a sensitive province: Minister

Balochistan is considered a sensitive province of the country regarding the law and order situation, the Home Minister mentioned.  Section 144 has been imposed to maintain the law and order situation, he explained.

Mr. Jamali stated that Communication is part of the strong traditions of tribal society. Tribal conflicts hinder the establishment of peace. People always suffer from conflicts, he added.

Obstacle to peace be removed: Jamali

Obstacles to a peaceful resolution of the conflict will be removed, he announced. He urged the BNP to postpone its long march due to security concerns. The party has accused the government of creating a law and order situation in Wadh which the party claims deprived the party of the upcoming elections.

The charge has been vehemently denied by the government.
