From Our Correspondent:

LORLALAI: Mahmood Khan Achakzai, the Chief of Pashtoonkhwa Milli Awami Party (PKMAP) underscored the significance of upholding constitutional principles, stressing that the Party will align with Nawaz Sharif as long as he adheres to the supremacy of the constitution, parliamentary sovereignty, and federation with autonomous units. During his addresses in Loralai as part of a people contact campaign, Achakzai critiques the global imbalance in resource distribution and highlights a similar issue within Pakistan.

Achakzai expressed regret over the unequal distribution of resources among different regions in Pakistan, asserting that the challenge lies not only in a concentration of resources in the hands of a few, which is called elite capture but also in the imbalanced allocation across regions.

He points out the double challenge faced by Pakhtuns, who, despite being endowed with natural resources, lack control and autonomy to exploit them for their well-being. Consequently, they are compelled to seek employment in other parts of the country.

Achakzai bemoans the loss of livelihood opportunities, especially in the form of loss of labor market, for Pakhtuns due to racial profiling, particularly in the aftermath of the so-called war on terror. He notes that this profiling has made them vulnerable, jeopardizing their lives, honor, and property.
