QUETTA: A division bench of the Balochistan High Court ordered an immediate suspension of four Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) personnel in connection with the alleged extra-judicial killing of Balach Baloch in Makran belt.
The division bench comprising Chief Justice BHC Mr Justice Naeem Akhtar Afghan and Mr Justice Nazeer Ahmed Langove passed this order on a constitutional petition filed by the family members of Balach Baloch.
The family members had accused the CTD personnel for killing the young man. However, the charge was rejected by CTD and termed the killing an armed clash between security forces and miscreants on Pasni road Turbat.
The court also ordered the govt to transfer the investigation against the CTD personnel to Crimes Branch Quetta. The Killing of Balach Baloch caused protests in Makran and the Baloch Yakjehti Committee launched a long march from Turbat to Quetta. The protestors arrived in Quetta on Monday.
Police have also registered an FIR against the four CTD personnel on the directives of session judge Turbat on the demand of family members of Balach Baloch.
The court had better and more credible options than to order the govt to transfer the investigation against the CTD personnel to Crimes Branch Quetta.
They could have formed a Judicial Commission under Session Judge Turbat !!!
