Jabbar Baloch:

KHUZDAR: In a recent seismic event, the city of Khuzdar and its surrounding areas in Balochistan experienced noticeable tremors, causing a wave of anxiety among residents who hastily exited their homes and businesses. The Seismological Center reported that the earthquake registered a magnitude of 4.9 on the Richter scale, indicating a moderate level of intensity.

The earthquake’s epicenter was identified in the vicinity of Khuzdar, prompting a swift response from local authorities to assess and address any potential damage. As the tremors subsided, residents began to cautiously return indoors, while officials initiated efforts to evaluate the impact on infrastructure and provide any necessary assistance.

It is advised for residents in the affected areas to remain vigilant and follow safety protocols outlined by local authorities. Earthquake preparedness measures and community awareness are essential in mitigating potential risks associated with seismic activities. Authorities continue to monitor the situation closely and will provide updates as necessary.

This earthquake came almost a week after a mild earthquake recorded 5.5 on the Richter scale damaged mud-walled houses in the Wadh Tehsil of Khuzdar district. However, there was no human loss as a result of the earthquake in Wadh.
