PISHIN: At least 14 people were killed in a blast in the Khanozai area of the district. Over two dozen people were injured when a blast targeted an election campaign office of an independent candidate.

“12 dead bodies brought to the hospital”, Dr. Habib, the Medical Superintendent of Khanozai Hospital told Daily Quetta Voice. He said most of the injured were in a serious condition.

A devastating explosion struck the election campaign office belonging to independent candidate Asfandyar Khan Kakar in Khanozai Tehsil, located within the Pishin district of Balochistan. Levies sources said at least seven people were killed in the attack that rocked the town.

Balochistan’s caretaker information minister, Jan Achakzai said the bomb was planted in a motorcycle parked outside the election campaign office. He said the government was committed to bringing the perpetrators of the blast to book.

Jan Achakzai, the caretaker information minister claimed India has put Pakistan on its terrorist list. He said India was behind today’s terrorist attack. Achakzai stated that India was creating unrest in Balochistan through such saboteur activities.

He said despite all odds and dangers, the elections would be held in Balochistan at all costs.

Identified as PB-47 in Pishin district, sources from the levies confirmed the incident.

Initial reports indicate that casualties have been incurred due to the intensity of the blast. Both levies and police personnel are actively present at the scene, responding to the situation.
