Mir Salam Jogezai:

In a warm gesture of hospitality, China Shield Company hosted a group of foreign journalists at its suburban Beijing location, offering them a unique culinary experience. The event featured the renowned Chinese dish “Hot Pot” alongside traditional Balochi Saji and Kadi Kabab, reflecting a fusion of cultural traditions and respect for guests.

The journalists were treated to a traditional Chinese hot pot meal, a communal dining experience where a simmering pot of broth is placed at the center of the table. Diners cook an array of ingredients, including thinly sliced meats, leafy vegetables, mushrooms, and seafood, in the flavorful broth, and then dip the cooked pieces into a variety of sauces. This interactive meal not only introduced the guests to the rich flavors of Chinese cuisine but also allowed them to appreciate the cultural significance of sharing food in Chinese tradition.

In addition to the hot pot, the journalists savored Balochi Saji and Kadi Kabab, traditional dishes from Pakistan’s Balochistan region. The inclusion of these dishes highlighted the company’s effort to bridge cultural gaps and show respect to their international guests.

The CEO of China Shield Company emphasized the importance of hospitality, noting that the tradition of honoring guests is a shared value between Chinese and Pakistani cultures. The journalists engaged with company personnel, learning about Chinese customs and the significance of the ingredients used in hot pot.

This event not only provided a memorable culinary experience but also fostered cross-cultural understanding and camaraderie. The foreign journalists left with a deeper appreciation of Chinese hospitality and the flavors of both Chinese and Balochi cuisine.
