QUETTA: After a three-year hiatus, the angiography machine at Bolan Medical Complex (BMC) Hospital has been made functional again, providing a crucial service to the region’s poor and needy patients. This development is especially significant as angioplasties, which cost approximately Rs. 3 lakh in private hospitals, are now available free of charge at this government-run hospital.

Dr. Amin Khan Mandokhail, the outgoing Medical Superintendent of BMC Hospital, played a pivotal role in this achievement. “Restoring this machine has been a priority, and it’s gratifying to see it finally operational. This will significantly reduce the financial burden on many families,” said Dr. Mandokhail.

The efforts of Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Sarfaraz Bugti, were instrumental in ensuring the machine’s functionality. His instructions and repeated visits to the hospital underscored his commitment to healthcare improvements in the region. “The operational angiography machine at BMC is a testament to our commitment to providing essential healthcare services to our citizens, regardless of their financial status,” stated CM Bugti.

Patients have expressed their relief and gratitude. Zahid Hussain, a patient who recently benefited from the service, shared, “I couldn’t afford the treatment in a private hospital. This machine being functional again is a blessing for people like me.”

Dr. Huma Tareen, a senior cardiologist at BMC, highlighted the medical benefits of the machine’s operation. “The angiography machine is crucial for diagnosing and treating heart conditions effectively. Its availability will save countless lives.”

The hospital was abuzz with celebration as both staff and patients marked the machine’s return to service. As one patient remarked, “This machine is not just equipment; it’s a lifeline for many.”

This milestone at BMC Hospital exemplifies how government initiatives, coupled with dedicated medical professionals, can create substantial benefits for the community.
