QUETTA: Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti have pledged a decisive response following a spate of terrorist attacks in Balochistan that have resulted in 41 deaths.
At a press conference in Quetta, Minister Naqvi, who made a brief visit to the city, assured the public that while large-scale military operations are not planned, the government is dedicated to addressing the threats and bolstering local law enforcement efforts. He stressed that the perpetrators are under close watch and will soon face a firm response.
Minister Naqvi expressed strong solidarity with Balochistan, condemning the attacks as acts of cowardice and reaffirming the federal government’s commitment to restoring peace in the region. Chief Minister Bugti expressed his gratitude for Minister Naqvi’s visit and reassured the public that the provincial government is doing everything possible to combat terrorism, despite the difficulties presented by Balochistan’s vast road network.
Following the press conference, Minister Naqvi chaired a high-level meeting with security force leaders to discuss strategies for enhancing law and order in the province. The government is focused on preventing further violence and ensuring the safety of Balochistan’s residents.
Minister Naqvi also voiced his strong support for Chief Minister Bugti’s efforts, denouncing the attacks as cowardly attempts to destabilize the region. “These attacks target the most vulnerable among us, but we are steadfast in our mission to overcome these challenges,” Naqvi said, reaffirming the federal government’s commitment to resolving Balochistan’s security issues.
Chief Minister Bugti thanked Minister Naqvi for his visit and assured the public that the provincial government is taking all necessary measures to fight terrorism. He acknowledged the difficulties posed by Balochistan’s extensive road network but vowed that the terrorists’ attempts to instill fear would not succeed. “We are dedicated to protecting our people and restoring peace,” Bugti affirmed.
