QUETTA: Schoolchildren staged a protest at the main Balochistan Assembly Chowk on Wednesday evening, demanding the immediate recovery of a kidnapped child, Muhammad Musawir, who was abducted six days ago from the Multani Mohalla area.

The children carried placards and banners with slogans urging authorities to intensify efforts to locate the minor. “How can we go to school in an insecure atmosphere?” questioned Abdullah, a seventh-grade student, who added that parents were deeply worried about their children’s safety.

The protest coincided with ongoing demonstrations by political parties at the same location, further pressuring the authorities to act swiftly. These demonstrations have caused severe traffic jams in the provincial capital, leaving citizens stranded for hours.

Senior administration officials have been summoned to the Balochistan Assembly to provide updates on the investigation and the measures being taken to recover the abducted child. Despite efforts, authorities remain clueless about the child’s whereabouts, raising concerns over public safety in Quetta.

The case has sparked outrage among citizens and political groups, who have vowed to continue their protests until the child is safely recovered.

The political parties backed by traders community have announced to intensify their proetsts for the recovery of the kidnapped child, Muhammad Musawir. The have announced to block all main highways linking Balochistan with rest of the country to mount pressure on the provincial government to ensure the unhurt recovery of the minor.
