Islamabad – The Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Medical University (SZABMU) has officially announced a delay in the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) reconduct, originally scheduled for November 24th. The decision comes in the wake of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) announcing a major protest in the capital on the same day.
The postponement has added to the stress and uncertainty faced by medical aspirants who have already endured multiple delays and controversies surrounding the MDCAT this year. The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has also postponed the National Registration Exam (NRE)-1 to December due to the impending protests.
While the exact date for the rescheduled MDCAT remains uncertain, sources suggest that December 8th is a potential date. This date also coincides with the Sindh MDCAT reconduct, scheduled by the Institute of Business Administration (IBA) Sukkur.
The political climate in Pakistan, marked by intense protests and security measures, has significantly impacted the academic calendar for medical students. As the situation unfolds, medical aspirants eagerly await official confirmation regarding the rescheduled MDCAT date.
