Education Desk:

The Balochistan Education Department, in collaboration with the World Food Programme (WFP), has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to provide nutritious school meals to children across the province.

Balochistan Education Minister, Raheela Hameed Khan Durrani played a key role in ensuring this programme to boost students enrolment.
Under this two-year initiative, 20,000 students in 65 schools will receive 5 million meals. The program aims to address nutritional deficiencies, improve school attendance, and enhance students’ focus and learning outcomes.

Research highlights the benefits of school meal programs:

•Increased Attendance: Encouraging regular school participation.

•Improved Learning: Boosting focus and academic performance.

•Better Nutrition: Tackling deficiencies that affect growth and development.

This initiative is expected to significantly improve food security while promoting education in underserved areas of Balochistan.
