Mehmood Khan Achakzai, Chairman of the Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party addressing a press conference.

News Desk:

Mehmood Khan Achakzai, Chairman of the Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party, condemned the suppression of what  he called peaceful protests at D-Chowk, where he claimed PTI members were targeted. He demanded a judicial inquiry and cases against the Prime Minister, Interior Minister, and IG Police for the killings.

Achakzai appealed to global democracies for support, advocating for peace and constitutional respect. He demanded the release of the PTI founder, asserting, “Releasing him will not bring the sky down.”

He also accused the government of election manipulation and corruption, alleging the February 8 election results were rigged and votes sold for 700 million rupees each. He described the governance as deeply corrupt and unconstitutional.

Calling the current government “illegitimate,” he urged all political parties to unite and hold new elections within months, emphasizing, “Whoever wins should govern.” He warned that public dissatisfaction could destabilize the country and called for constitutional supremacy to restore order.

Criticizing the misuse of resources, Achakzai highlighted the disparity between funds for vote-buying and aid for the poor. He also stressed the need for independent domestic and foreign policies to protect Pakistan’s sovereignty.

In the end, he warned that a state failing to ensure peace has no right to govern and emphasized unity, justice, and democracy as the solution to Pakistan’s challenges.
