QUETTA: Hazara women staged a protest outside the Balochistan High Court on Wednesday morning against unannounced and prolonged gas load-shedding in Quetta.

Activists of the National Party joined the demonstrators as they blocked the main Balochistan Assembly Chowk, expressing anger over the situation.

The protesters criticized the gas company for failing to provide an adequate gas supply amid the harsh winter in the provincial capital. They alleged that the company continued to send heavy bills despite not ensuring proper service.

“We demand the Balochistan High Court take immediate notice of this injustice, as the company’s negligence has made our lives unbearable,” a protester stated.

The demonstrators also raised slogans against the gas company, as well as the provincial and federal governments, holding them accountable for the crisis. The protest disrupted traffic near the high court as the women vowed to continue their demonstrations until their demands are met.
