KHUZDAR: A Levies officer, Abdul Hafiz Kurd, was killed in a suspected targeted attack in Khuzdar, Balochistan, on Wednesday. According to police sources, unidentified assailants opened fire on his vehicle in the town area of the city before fleeing the scene.

Law enforcement and Levies personnel reached the site shortly after the incident and launched an investigation. The body of the deceased was shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital in Khuzdar for a postmortem examination.

Preliminary investigations suggest the attack was an act of targeted killing, a police official disclosed anonymously. Security measures were tightened across the city following the incident to prevent further violence.

Authorities are continuing their investigation to identify and apprehend the perpetrators.
