Islamabad :The MDCAT retake exam date has been extended, with new arrangements finalized to balance student interests and institutional needs.

The MDCAT retake will now be held within two weeks from December 22, 2024, as per a court decision. Students will receive the exact exam date at least one week in advance. Those opting to sit for the retake must pay a registration fee of Rs. 8,000. This fee will be refunded if the appeal challenging the initial judgment is unsuccessful.

The court reviewed a proposal to adjust the calculation of the MDCAT results by granting six grace marks and reducing the total questions from 200 to 182. However, Respondents opposed this, emphasizing the adverse impact on percentage calculations and fairness.

Students can choose to retain their original MDCAT 2024 results or take the retake. The main appeal will be heard after the winter vacation.

This decision aims to address student concerns while ensuring the university can manage the administrative costs effectively.
