Prime Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif has increased the laptop quota for students of public sector universities in Balochistan from 14% to 18%, following a recommendation by Governor Balochistan Jaffar Khan Mandokhail. Additionally, 3,000 internships have been allocated for students in the province, marking a significant step toward promoting education and employment opportunities in the region.
The announcement was made by Rana Mashhood, the Prime Minister’s Advisor on Youths, during the 20th convocation ceremony of the Balochistan University of Information Technology, Engineering, and Management Sciences (BUITEMS). Held on Thursday with Governor Mandukhel, who is also the university’s chancellor, presiding over the event, the ceremony celebrated the achievements of 700 graduating students.
Governor Balochistan expressed his gratitude to the Prime Minister and Rana Mashhood for their efforts, emphasizing that these initiatives will greatly benefit students and contribute to the province’s educational and professional development.
This development reflects the federal government’s commitment to empowering Balochistan’s youth and addressing regional disparities.
