Quetta: Provincial Minister for Agriculture, Industry, and Commerce, Mir Ali Hassan Zehri, has issued a stern warning to Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL), Hubco Power Plant, PMDC, and over 40 other industries operating in Balochistan with expired lease agreements. The minister announced that strict action will begin within a week if these companies fail to address the province’s concerns.

Highlighting PPL’s operations, the minister stated that its lease agreement with the Government of Balochistan expired 15 years ago. Despite this, PPL continues to operate unconstitutionally, earning billions from the province without sharing the rightful revenue. “This is unacceptable. The government has raised the issue at provincial and federal levels, and it has been discussed in the assembly. Now, we are taking decisive steps,” Mir Ali Hassan Zehri said.

He issued a one-week ultimatum to PPL to engage with the provincial government, address concerns, and finalize a new lease agreement. “If PPL fails to comply, they will be barred from operating in Balochistan,” the minister warned.

Similarly, Hubco Power Plant and PMDC have also been given a week to resolve their lease issues. Over 40 factories in Hub, previously served a 15-day notice, have now received a final one-week warning. “Their non-serious attitude will no longer be tolerated. After this deadline, strict legal action will be taken without any leniency,” he added.

Mir Ali Hassan Zehri reaffirmed the government’s commitment to protecting Balochistan’s rights and resources. “The PPP, under the leadership of Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, is dedicated to the province’s development. Balochistan’s progress is vital for Pakistan’s prosperity,” he stated.

The minister emphasized that PPP’s vision is to eliminate deprivation in Balochistan and ensure the rights of its people. “Practical steps have already been initiated, and the benefits will soon be visible to the people of Balochistan,” he assured.
