ISPR, Rawalpindi (19 January 2025): In a significant operation during the night of 18/19 January, Pakistan’s security forces detected and foiled an infiltration attempt by a group of Khwarij near the Sambaza area in Zhob District, close to the Pakistan-Afghanistan border. The terrorists were effectively engaged, and five Khwarij were eliminated on the spot, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

Call for Responsible Border Management

The ISPR highlighted Pakistan’s repeated requests to the Interim Afghan Government to ensure effective border management and prevent the use of Afghan soil by Khwarij to orchestrate terror attacks in Pakistan. Pakistan expects the Afghan authorities to fulfill their commitments and deny safe havens to these elements.

Commitment to Eliminating Terrorism

The statement reaffirmed that Pakistan’s security forces remain resolute in securing the country’s borders and eradicating terrorism. Their proactive measures continue to thwart attempts by terrorist groups to destabilize the region.

Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti’s Appreciation

Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti commended the bravery and vigilance of the security forces, stating, “The successful operation is a testament to the commitment of our forces to protecting Pakistan from the menace of terrorism. The nation stands united with its defenders in ensuring peace and stability.”
