From Our Correspondent:Â
In Khuzdar at Suni’s location on the Quetta-Karachi Highway, a complete traffic blockade has persisted for 38 hours following the alleged kidnapping of a 17-year-old girl. The protesting mother of the girl has made an appeal to the government for the recovery of her kidnapped daughter.
Women and children are also part of the demonstration.
Despite the prolonged disruption, neither the administration nor any representatives from the affected family have engaged in negotiations to resolve the situation. As a result, thousands of travelers many of whom are women, children, elderly individuals, and other passengers remain stranded on both sides of the highway.
Adding to the turmoil, the mother of the kidnapped girl has issued an urgent appeal to the authorities, demanding prompt and decisive action for the recovery of her daughter.
The distress of the affected families and the suffering of the stranded passengers have raised serious concerns about the ongoing security and safety measures along this critical transportation route.
In a related development, Nawab Sanaullah Khan Zahri, a senior leader of the Pakistan Peoples Party and former Chief Minister of Balochistan, vehemently condemned a tragic incident that occurred last night at a police line in Khuzdar.
In a strongly worded statement, Zahri asserted, Neither I nor Takhte Jhalawan Anjirah bear any connection to this incident. Whoever is responsible for this action has committed an unforgivable crime. His remarks underscore the heightened tension and the urgent need for accountability in the wake of these events.
The continuous highway blockade, coupled with the recent acts of violence, has disrupted travel and daily life in the region, prompting widespread calls for immediate intervention from law enforcement and government officials.
As the situation develops, the plight of the stranded travelers and the desperate plea from the victims family remain at the forefront of public concern, highlighting the critical need for swift resolution and improved security measures along the Quetta-Karachi Highway.
