Qaseem Shah:

Quetta: Internet services have been restored in Quetta after a four-day suspension, bringing relief to residents, businesses, and students who faced severe disruptions. Mobile signals were also reinstated, allowing users to reconnect after days of digital blackout.

The government had suspended internet services due to protests led by the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC). The prolonged outage had severely impacted businesses, online education, and communication.

“I couldn’t attend my online classes for four days, which affected my studies,” said Bilal Ahmed, a university student. “The restoration is a huge relief.”

Business owners also welcomed the decision. “Our sales dropped significantly as we rely on online transactions. The internet shutdown was a major setback,” said Shahid Khan, a shopkeeper in Quetta.

Citizens expressed frustration over frequent internet suspensions, urging authorities to find alternative solutions instead of cutting off connectivity. “We understand security concerns, but shutting down the internet isn’t the answer,” said another resident.

With internet and mobile services restored, normalcy is gradually returning to Quetta, though concerns remain over future disruptions.
