Quetta: A powerful bomb blast targeted a police mobile near Bareech Market on Double Road, killing three civilians and injuring 21 others, police and hospital officials confirmed.

The injured were rushed to Civil Hospital Quetta, where an emergency was declared to provide immediate medical treatment. According to the hospital spokesperson, most of the injured are civilians and were admitted to the trauma center. He described the condition of four injured as serious.

Security forces cordoned off the area and launched an investigation. No group has claimed responsibility for the attack yet. Police officials stated that the blast was aimed at a police vehicle, but civilians also suffered casualties due to the explosion.

Authorities are continuing their probe to determine the nature of the attack and identify those responsible.

Balochistan Government spokesman Shahid Rind strongly condemned the incident, stating that terrorists deliberately targeted the police. He assured that the perpetrators of the blast would be brought to justice.

President Asif Ali Zardari strongly denounced the Quetta blast, expressing deep sorrow over the tragic loss of lives. In a statement released by the PPP, he emphasized that such violent acts during the sacred month of Ramadan expose the malicious intentions of terrorists. He also extended his prayers for the swift recovery of those injured in the attack.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi also condemned the bombing, voicing grief over the loss of two lives. In a statement from his office, he assured the bereaved families that the government stands with them in their time of sorrow.
