Mastung: A suicide bomber detonated himself near the rally of Sardar Akhtar Mengal and the Balochistan National Party (BNP-M) during their Long March on Saturday. However, Mengal and other party workers remained unhurt in the attack.

Security officials stated that the attacker was attempting to enter the gathering but was prevented due to strict security. As a result, he detonated his explosives nearby. Eyewitnesses reported that the bomber was also armed with a pistol.

The Balochistan government is committed to ensuring the safety of BNP-M leaders, activists, and the general public, Shahid Rind, the Spokesman of the Government said.

Authorities have assured a thorough investigation into the incident and pledged to keep the public informed about the findings. Officials urged Sardar Akhtar Mengal, BNP-M, and citizens to cooperate in maintaining peace through dialogue.

Following the explosion, law enforcement agencies recovered an identification card from the attacker’s clothing, which was later displayed to the media by BNP-M chief Sardar Akhtar Mengal. Officials confirmed that a second suspect, believed to be an accomplice, managed to flee on a motorcycle.

Rescue teams confirmed that two BNP-M workers sustained minor injuries in the blast. Security forces have launched an investigation to track down the fleeing suspect and prevent further threats.
