QUETTA: The cancer ward at Bolan Medical Complex (BMC) Hospital has been officially renamed “Shaheed Dr. Mehrullah Tareen Ward,” as per a notification issued by the Medical Superintendent’s office on Friday.

Dr. Mehrullah Tareen, a dedicated oncologist, was martyred in a bomb blast on Quetta’s Double Road a week ago. The renaming of the ward pays tribute to his selfless service and commitment to cancer patients in Balochistan.

The decision received widespread appreciation on social media, with citizens and medical professionals welcoming the move. Many praised the hospital administration for honoring Dr. Tareen’s legacy and sacrifice.

This tribute highlights the profound impact Dr. Tareen had on the healthcare community and the lives he touched through his work.
