QUETTA: Senior Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Ali Madad Jattak is likely to be appointed as the new Home Minister of Balochistan, sources in the provincial government told Quetta Voice on Thursday.

Reliable officials confirmed that the decision has been finalized, and a formal notification is expected soon. When contacted, Mr. Jattak also confirmed that he has been informed about being given the key portfolio. “Yes, I’ve been told, but the notification has yet to be issued,” he said.

The appointment, once official, is expected to strengthen the role of PPP in the Balochistan cabinet, especially concerning law and order matters.

Officials close to the development said the Balochistan government, in consultation with federal authorities, will notify the portfolio in the coming days, though no exact date was shared.
