QUETTA, April 11: In a major step towards improving healthcare and medical education in Balochistan, Corps Commander Quetta, Lieutenant General Rahat Naseem Ahmad Khan, inaugurated the province’s first-ever dental college — Quetta College of Dentistry (QCD) — in a formal ceremony held in Quetta.

The establishment of QCD marks a significant milestone and reflects the joint efforts of the Government of Balochistan and the Pakistan Army. The college was constructed and made operational in under a year — a record achievement for the region.

Equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and modern resources, Quetta College of Dentistry is set to provide comprehensive dental education and practical training. The first batch of 50 students has been selected, and regular classes are scheduled to commence on April 14, 2025.

This inaugural class represents a new era for dental healthcare in Balochistan. Students will benefit from an expert faculty and a modern curriculum designed to meet national and international standards.

The launch of QCD is seen as a transformative development in the province’s healthcare sector, aiming to address the shortage of skilled dental professionals and improve public access to quality dental care.
