Qaseem Shah, News Desk: Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti, while addressing a seminar organized by the Mir Khalil-ur-Rahman Memorial Society in Lahore, emphasized that the core issue in Balochistan is not the separatists themselves, but the harmful narrative that misguides people.

He stated that only two to three percent of individuals in the province support separatist ideas, and the real challenge lies in countering their propaganda. “I stand with those women whose sons and husbands were dragged off buses and killed,” he said, adding, “But I do not stand with those who operate under the guise of human rights while pushing a specific agenda.”

CM Bugti dismissed the term “angry Baloch” as a creation of confused intellectuals from Punjab, asserting that such terminology does not reflect the ground reality of the province.

He clarified that there is no need for large-scale military operations in Balochistan. “What’s needed are intelligence-based operations, and they will continue,” he affirmed.

Highlighting efforts for youth development, Bugti shared that Rs. 1 billion had been allocated to support Baloch students studying in other provinces. “At Punjab University, students from all ethnic backgrounds — Punjabis, Baloch, Pashtuns, Sindhis — are studying together. We have established Baloch, Pashtun, and Sindhi student councils there,” he added.

He also welcomed the use of petroleum levy funds for the construction of roads in Balochistan, calling it a step in the right direction for regional development.
