Quetta, April 23 – Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti has formed a high-level parliamentary committee comprising members of coalition parties to shape the upcoming fiscal year’s budget and Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) in line with public needs. The committee will be headed by the Chief Minister himself and is tasked with holding result-oriented discussions with the federal government on budgetary matters.

The committee includes senior political figures such as Mir Muhammad Sadiq Umrani, Bakht Muhammad Kakar, Mir Zahoor Ahmed Buledi, Mir Saleem Ahmed Khosa, Mir Shoaib Nosherwani, Noor Muhammad Dummar, Nawabzada Tariq Khan Magsi, Engineer Zamarak Khan Achakzai, and Engineer Abdul Majeed Badini.

The decision was taken during a key consultative meeting held at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat in Quetta on Wednesday. The session was attended by parliamentary leaders, ministers, parliamentary secretaries, and members of allied parties including the Pakistan Peoples Party, Pakistan Muslim League, Balochistan Awami Party, Awami National Party, and Jamaat-e-Islami.

Chief Minister Bugti emphasized that the upcoming budget would break away from past traditions and be fully aligned with the province’s development priorities and the needs of the people. He vowed to ensure transparency, merit, and good governance in both the budget and PSDP, aiming to deliver maximum public welfare within limited resources.

“There will be no room for corruption or nepotism in the development budget,” Bugti stated. “Only approved and people-centric projects will be included.”

He highlighted that priority sectors would include education, healthcare, infrastructure, and projects aimed at improving the quality of life for ordinary citizens. The Chief Minister further noted the complete consensus among all coalition parties, calling it a positive sign for Balochistan’s future.

“Our core mission is to ensure every citizen, whether suffering in the sweltering heat or shivering in the cold, benefits from the government’s development agenda,” he said. “The budget should not be just numbers—it should be a roadmap to uplift every resident of Balochistan.”

Bugti concluded by stressing that development cannot be complete without providing essential services such as education, healthcare, and employment to the people. “Budget-making is not just a financial exercise, it is about building public trust—and we are committed to earning that trust.”
