QUETTA: At least four security personnel were martyred and three others injured in a powerful explosion targeting a Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) vehicle in the Margat area, on the outskirts of Quetta, on Friday.
According to security sources, the incident occurred while the BDS team was on a routine inspection mission in the area. The blast, described as extremely loud, was reportedly heard from miles away, causing panic among local residents.
The injured personnel were immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, where they are currently receiving medical treatment. Hospital sources confirmed that an emergency was declared to ensure timely care for the victims.
Law enforcement agencies swiftly cordoned off the area and launched a search operation to trace the perpetrators. Initial investigations suggest that the explosive device was detonated remotely, indicating a premeditated attack.
Security officials stated that anti-state elements are attempting to sabotage peace efforts in Balochistan. They reaffirmed their commitment to continuing operations against such hostile actors and ensuring the safety of the region.
