QUETTA – Former Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has warned that Pakistan cannot move forward without resolving its deepening political instability, calling for inclusive leadership, constitutional governance, and urgent reforms to address public grievances, especially in Balochistan.

Speaking to journalists during his visit to Quetta, Abbasi, who now heads the Awam Pakistan Party, voiced concern over the province’s prolonged suffering. “Balochistan has been caught in a cycle of tragedies for over a decade. Its roads are no longer safe, its economy is under pressure, and the youth are increasingly disillusioned,” he said.

He pointed out that the federal government in Islamabad has repeatedly failed to resolve the core issues faced by the people of Balochistan. “The grievances of the common man have been ignored for too long. It’s time for bold and transformative measures to restore trust and hope,” Abbasi stressed.

The former premier underlined the need for stronger democratic institutions and rule of law to guide the country out of its current turmoil. “Without political stability and respect for the Constitution, Pakistan will continue to face challenges. Resource distribution and governance must remain within constitutional boundaries,” he added.

Abbasi also called for genuine political leaders to be included in decision-making processes. “Strengthening the political process is key to overcoming national crises. Real leaders who understand the ground realities must be part of the solution,” he concluded.
