PISHIN, CHAMAN – In a tragic incident, Sub-Inspector Zainuddin Tareen was martyred in a targeted firing by unidentified terrorists in the Batezai area of district Pishin. The incident took place in Barezai, according to police sources.

The martyred officer, who was posted in Chaman, had returned to his hometown just three days ago on leave. Local residents reported heavy gunfire, after which law enforcement agencies rushed to the scene. Police and Levies personnel cordoned off the area immediately and launched a search operation.

The body of Sub-Inspector Tareen was shifted to Pishin Hospital for post-mortem examination, while security forces began collecting evidence from the site.

Police sources believe the incident appears to be an act of targeted killing, though the exact motive behind the attack could not be confirmed immediately. An investigation has been launched, and efforts are underway to trace the attackers.

This latest attack has once again raised concerns over the security situation in the region, especially the safety of law enforcement personnel even during their time off duty.
