Islamabad, May 6 – In a major development for Pakistan’s road infrastructure, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif chaired a high-level review meeting at the PM House regarding the Karachi-Chaman N-25 highway, which stretches nearly 800 kilometers and connects key trade routes between Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Iran.
Balochistan Governor Jafar Khan Mandokhail praised the premier’s leadership and termed the highway project a symbol of strong federal-provincial partnership. “Completing such a massive project in just two years is a remarkable step forward. The Prime Minister and his entire cabinet deserve credit,” he said.
The N-25, known as Balochistan’s economic lifeline, is expected to boost regional trade, ensure safer travel, and significantly reduce road fatalities. Once completed, the travel time from Quetta to Karachi will be cut in half—from 12 hours to just 6 hours.
The review meeting was attended by Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Governor Mandokhail, and other senior officials. Governor Mandokhail highlighted Balochistan’s strategic position, noting its long borders with Iran and Afghanistan and its potential as a gateway to Central Asian markets.
He said the highway would not only improve connectivity but also serve as a catalyst for economic growth, offering modern, safer, and faster travel for the people of Balochistan.
