Dalbandin – A late-night intelligence-based police operation in Balochistan’s border district of Chagai turned violent after suspects opened fire on law enforcement personnel, resulting in a deadly exchange.

According to local sources, police launched a targeted raid on a house in Dalbandin following a tip-off about the presence of suspected criminals. As the officers approached, they were met with heavy gunfire from the assailants inside the residence. In the ensuing shootout, one police constable was killed on the spot, while Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) and another officer sustained injuries.

Police retaliated with force, killing one of the armed attackers during the operation and capturing another suspect in wounded condition.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Chagai confirmed the incident, stating that the injured officers were immediately shifted to Prince Fahd Hospital in Dalbandin. Due to the severity of their injuries, the DSP and others were later referred to Quetta for advanced medical care.

Following the clash, a comprehensive search operation was launched in the surrounding area to ensure no other suspects were hiding nearby. Officials confirmed that weapons and other forensic evidence used in the firefight were seized from the site. The case is under investigation, and legal proceedings are underway.

The incident has raised concerns over the increasing risks faced by law enforcement officials operating in Balochistan’s volatile border regions. Authorities have reiterated their commitment to rooting out criminal networks and ensuring peace in the province.
