QUETTA: Pashtoon student organizations have accused the Balochistan Public Service Commission (BPSC) of depriving Pashtun candidates of fair opportunities in government job appointments.
Addressing a joint press conference at the Quetta Press Club, student leaders alleged that the BPSC chairman and some members were involved in favoring their “blue-eyed” candidates for key government positions, including assistant commissioners, section officers, and deputy superintendents of police.
They claimed that the current chairman of the commission was showing clear bias against Pashtun candidates, undermining their constitutional and legal rights. “The commission has become a tool for selective recruitment rather than a merit-based institution,” one of the leaders said.
The students warned that if favoritism continues in the upcoming results of the Secondary and Nayab Tehsildar exams, they would launch a province-wide protest movement against the BPSC.
They demanded transparency in recruitment processes and strict action against any official found guilty of nepotism or misconduct.
“There is a growing sense of injustice among Pashtun youth,” they said, urging the provincial government to take immediate notice of the issue.
As of now, the Balochistan Public Service Commission has not issued any official statement in response to the allegations made by the student organizations.
