All the victims belonged to the Hazara community and were reportedly traveling from Quetta when their vehicle lost control and overturned due to excessive speed. The tragic crash once again exposes the alarming dangers posed by reckless driving, particularly on Pakistan’s single-lane highways.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Lasbela, Atif Amir, told Daily Quetta Voice that the deceased died on the spot and their bodies were shifted to Uthal District Hospital, where legal procedures are currently being carried out.

Emergency rescue teams and traffic police responded promptly to the scene. However, hospital officials confirmed that all four passengers had succumbed to injuries before help could arrive.

This tragic incident underlines the urgent need for improving road safety standards, widening the Quetta-Karachi Highway, and enforcing strict traffic regulations to prevent further loss of life. Hundreds of people are killed annually in highway accidents in Pakistan, with the Quetta to Karachi route being one of the most dangerous due to its outdated infrastructure.
