Qaseem Shah:Â
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif arrived in Quetta to assess the security situation, review anti-terrorism measures, and evaluate infrastructure development projects funded by the federal government in Balochistan.
Upon landing at Quetta International Airport, the premier was received by Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti, the acting governor, and senior provincial cabinet ministers. As part of heightened security protocols, all commercial business centers along the airport route were temporarily shut down to ensure the Prime Minister’s safe movement.
The Prime Minister was given a detailed briefing by the Inspector General of Police, Chief Secretary, and senior officials from law enforcement agencies about the internal security challenges, ongoing operations against terrorist threats, and recent attacks in various districts.
Additionally, the Prime Minister reviewed progress on mega development projects under the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP), including road infrastructure, energy initiatives, and economic corridor plans aimed at promoting regional connectivity and foreign investment.
The visit underscores the federal government’s resolve to strengthen counter-terrorism efforts, boost economic growth, and improve the investment climate in Balochistan through sustainable infrastructure development.
