Quetta, June 12, 2025 — In a significant move to bolster disaster preparedness, Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti convened a crucial meeting of the Provincial Disaster Management Commission at the Chief Minister Secretariat today. The session focused on evaluating the province’s readiness for potential natural disasters during the forthcoming monsoon season.

Officials from the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) presented the Monsoon Contingency Plan, outlining strategies for emergency response and resource allocation. The Chief Minister endorsed key administrative decisions and emphasized the necessity of timely preparation, effective inter-agency coordination, and prompt response.

Chief Minister Bugti directed PDMA to ensure transparency in relief operations, equitable distribution of resources, and adequate staffing across all districts. He reiterated that safeguarding citizens and delivering timely assistance remain the government’s foremost priorities.

The session was attended by members of the PDMA Commission, including Opposition Leader Mir Younis Aziz Zehri, Chief Secretary of Balochistan Shakeel Qadir Khan, relevant secretaries, PDMA Director General Jahanzeb Khan, and other senior officials.
