Quetta (Special Correspondent):

A high-level delegation of the Balochistan University of Information Technology, Engineering and Management Sciences (BUITEMS) Staff Association (BSA) met with the Provincial Minister for Education, Ms. Raheela Durrani, today to discuss key issues faced by university employees, including the recent concerns over the PSU allowance.

The delegation, which included Mr. Sohail Anwar, Dr. Saima, Dr. Hasrat Shah, Sheikh Meer Ahmed, and Najeebullah, expressed appreciation for the minister’s continued efforts in resolving issues faced by universities in Balochistan. They also thanked her for increasing the higher education budget in the recent provincial budget from Rs. 5 billion to Rs. 8 billion.

During the meeting, the BSA delegation gave a detailed briefing on the PSU allowance and the recently introduced uniform pay policy. They emphasized the need for inclusion of house requisition—already approved by all relevant forums such as F&P, Syndicate, and Senate—into the uniform pay policy. Additionally, the delegation requested that BUITEMS employees’ salaries be brought at par with those of the University of Balochistan staff, in order to address long-standing grievances and reduce growing dissatisfaction among employees.

In response, Education Minister Raheela Durrani praised the dedication and performance of BUITEMS faculty and staff and acknowledged their significant role in the province’s development. She assured the delegation that she would continue her efforts to resolve these pressing issues.
