Staff Reporter:

Quetta – The Government of Balochistan has removed the project director of the long-stalled Jhalawan Medical College and Hospital scheme due to prolonged delays in its completion.

The execution of the project will now be handled by the provincial Communication and Works Department.

The decision came during a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti, attended by Provincial Health Minister Bakht Muhammad Kakar, Leader of the Opposition Mir Younus Aziz Zehri, and senior officials.

During the session, the chief minister expressed regret over the lack of progress on the much-needed medical and healthcare facility. He ordered the preparation of a revised PC-I and directed departments to expedite work without further delays.

Officials say the change aims to breathe new life into the project, which is seen as vital for improving healthcare services in the region. The government has vowed to ensure timely completion and operationalization of the facility for the benefit of the public.
