Staff Reporter:

QUETTA – Pakistan Railways has suspended several inter-provincial train services to and from Balochistan due to heightened security concerns, officials confirmed.

According to railway authorities, the Jaffar Express running from Peshawar to Quetta has been halted from August 10 to August 14, while its Quetta-to-Peshawar service will also remain suspended during this period. Similarly, the Bolan Mail, operating between Karachi and Quetta, has been postponed until August 16.

This decision follows a recent bomb attack targeting the Jaffar Express in Mastung district. The explosion caused damage to the track but, fortunately, no casualties were reported. The incident is the latest in a series of blasts on railway tracks in Balochistan over the past few days.

Authorities have tightened security across the province, with the government stressing that these measures are aimed at preventing any untoward incidents and ensuring passenger safety.
