Pishin, September 2, 2025 — Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti has announced that the Mines and Minerals Act will be reintroduced in the provincial assembly and passed with consensus, rejecting what he called “baseless propaganda” against the legislation.
Addressing a large public gathering in Karbala, Pishin, the Chief Minister said, “Balochistan’s resources belong to its people, and no one can take them without their consent. We will bring this act back to the assembly and ensure it is approved through consensus.”
Bugti emphasized that Balochistan’s serious challenges and limited resources require careful management, adding that the province’s natural wealth would be developed through international investment and modern technology.
Alongside his remarks on the Mines and Minerals Act, the Chief Minister also unveiled several major development projects for Karbala and surrounding areas:
- Karbala to be upgraded to Tehsil status
- Local hospital to become a Tehsil Headquarters Hospital under Indus Hospital management
- 10 km road construction to meet the long-standing demand of local Baloch tribes
- Launch of solar energy projects in the region
- Establishment of a new inter-college in Karbala
- Rs 500 million development package for Haramzai, Karbala, and Saranan
- Karbala to be granted Municipal Committee status under existing laws
Bugti further stated, “For me, there is no difference between government and opposition — the entire Balochistan is my priority.”
Highlighting opportunities for the province’s youth, he pointed out that students from Balochistan are already benefiting from the Benazir Bhutto Scholarship Programme, gaining access to higher education in over 200 universities worldwide.
Reaffirming his political vision, Bugti said the PPP’s manifesto is rooted in public service. He concluded, “Pakistan is our identity — as long as this country exists, we exist. Serving and staying loyal to Pakistan is the true path to success.”
