News Desk: The Balochistan government has officially requested the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to postpone the local government elections in Quetta, citing harsh winter conditions and a deteriorating law and order situation.

According to official sources, the provincial government has sent a formal letter to the ECP, urging it to delay the Quetta local body elections until the weather improves and security conditions stabilize.

The government maintains that holding elections under the current circumstances could hinder voter turnout and pose security risks to both officials and the public.

The Election Commission of Pakistan is expected to review the request and make a decision in the coming days regarding the rescheduling of Quetta’s local government polls.
