— Reports circulating on social media and local news outlets claimed that the Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) had announced an end to gas load-shedding in Quetta after 10 PM, starting from November 8.

According to the alleged statement attributed to the SSGC spokesperson, the decision was said to have been made considering the onset of winter, public hardships, and rising illnesses, aiming to provide relief to citizens. The reports claimed that Quetta residents would be able to use gas until midnight, while the supply would resume as usual from 5 AM.

However, officials from the Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) have categorically denied these reports. The company clarified that no official decision or notification regarding the end of gas load-shedding in Quetta has been issued.

Meanwhile, Quetta Voice attempted multiple times to contact SSGC spokesperson Salman Siddiqui for confirmation, but he did not respond, as in previous instances.

Residents say that if the news had been true, it would have been a major relief amid the ongoing winter gas crisis, but after SSGC’s denial, the situation remains unclear.
